White is the color of peace & pacification. You are encouraged to come dressed in a white top, symbolic of the blessings of the Vajrasattva Peace Fire Puja.
Providing the names of the deceased will be sufficient for efficacy of the Grand Fire Puja. If you would like to bring the deceased photos, we shall only accept passport-size photos on the evening of the puja itself (no soft copies will be accepted). Please pass it to our volunteers no later than 7:00pm on Fire Puja day. Thank you for your understanding.
Dear Friends. Since moving into our current centre in 2017, we have been using two makeshift toilets at the back of the first floor for our male devotees. Over the years, these simple facilities have served countless students and visitors attending our Dharma classes, pujas and events.
Over the past two months, however, the toilets began developing persistent leaks and other plumbing issues. Unfortunately, these problems surfaced just as we were welcoming the largest number of participants during Kyabje Zong Rinpoche's recent visit to Singapore. We sincerely apologise to everyone who experienced the inconvenience during this busy period.
After careful discussion and consideration, we have decided that rather than continuing to carry out temporary repairs, it is time to build two proper permanent toilets to better serve our growing Dharma community for many years to come.
These toilets will not only provide greater comfort and convenience for our devotees, but will also greatly benefit our resident Sangha. As many of you know, the monks spend much of their time on the first floor during pujas, prayers and meal times. Having proper toilet facilities on the same level will save them from having to repeatedly walk up to the third floor whenever they need to use the restroom.
The project includes: • Construction of two permanent concrete-walled toilet cubicles • A completely new plumbing and drainage system • Two new toilet bowls • A hand wash basin in each cubicle • Associated building, tiling and installation works
The estimated cost of this project is S$10K.
We warmly invite anyone who wishes to contribute towards this meaningful improvement of our Dharma centre. Every offering, regardless of amount, will help create a cleaner, safer and more comfortable environment that will benefit our Sangha, our members and the many visitors who come to receive and practise the Dharma.
